Active Ageing Initiative

Our Impact Through Your Eyes

Venture into the world that AGI dedicates itself to improve.
Between medical aid and fun activities, discover how devoted we are to empowering the elderly.

Winneba Pilot Project

In December of 2023, we were welcomed to the town of Winneba. In collaboration with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, we were able to provide nine homebound individuals with medical assistance. Alongside medical aid, we organized community meals, physical activities, and traditional games such as oware and ludu.

Techimantia Pilot Project

Thanks to the local catholic church, our team visited Techimantia in early January of 2024. Home visitations were conducted for 20 individuals and health checks were facilitated for another 100.

A health talk on lifestyle and diet was led and individual health insurance was renewed for 15 individuals. Community meals were organized and games were played. The elderly enjoyed lots of music and dancing.

About us

Ageing with Dignity and Respect

Our Story

The roots of the Active Ageing Initiative (AGI) are deeply personal. Founded by Brenda and Kwame, two migrants from Ghana living in the UK, AGI was born out of their frustrations and worries for their older parents back home. Witnessing the challenges of ageing without adequate community support, they envisioned a world where every older person could age with dignity and respect.

Moved by their experiences, Brenda and Kwame embarked on a mission to transform the care of older people in developing nations. AGI symbolises their commitment to creating a community that uplifts and empowers older people, ensuring they are celebrated, not forgotten. It's a tribute to their parents and every older person seeking to lead a fulfilled life.

Through compassion, innovation, and partnership, AGI stands as a beacon of hope, driving change and redefining what it means to age actively. Join us in this heartfelt journey towards a future where every older person finds joy, purpose, and connection.
